ESC in Poznan

Eastpackers is looking for volunteers who would like to go to one of the oldest cities in Poland, Poznan! 

Centre for Intercultural Initiatives Horizons is looking for volunteers who would like to volunteer in the beautiful city of Poznan. Volunteers will support the development of activities for youngsters and seniors, which will involve the preparation of group dynamics, team building activities, language activities, cultural activities, recycling workshops, sport activities and others but always in articulation with the associations team at CIM Cultural Center. Possibilities are:
– School support, where the volunteers will have the chance to have direct contact especially with children and youth as well as with local community and organize several outdoor activities;
– Support in the international relationships, helping the team in the organization of International Trainings for cooperation of people from different nationalities in various subjects, Youth Work Fields, for the promotion of volunteerism in various subjects and International  Training and Exchange Programs;

This project enables volunteer to develop competences in several areas: – project management – facilitation skills – public performance – language skills (both mother tongue and foreign languages: Polish and English – intercultural competences – artistic expression (as the volunteer are free to choose the form of presentation content they want to deliver) The learning process will be supported by both: ESC coordinator/supervisor in accordance with volunteers learning objectives. ESC coordinator will help with setting learning objectives and monitoring learning process.

Working hours and days off: 
The example of your working week (which of course is just an example – very flexible and ready for your ideas):
Monday: 11:00 group organisational meeting, 12.00 – 13.00 Workshop preparation, 13:00 – 14:00 Lunch break, 14:30 – 16:30 workshop in primary school during leisure time, 17:00 – 18:00 Meeting with coordinator.
Tuesday 9.00 – 13:00 Language animation in the highschool, 13:00 – 14.00 Lunch time, 14.00 – 19.00, Language workshops in Cultural Club Krąg for local community, 16.00 – 18.00 Eco activity in Lazarus Garden
Wednesday 10.00- 12.00 polish class, 12.00 – 13.00 Lunch break 13.30 – 17.00 Workshop in youth club
Thursday Friday 9.00 – 11.00 Workshop in kindergarten, 11.30 – 13.00 Work on social media, 13.00 – 14.00 Lunch break, 15.00 – 17.00 Manual workshop for local community.
Friday 9.00 – 11.00 Self directed learning, 11.00 – 13.00 workshop planning for next week 13.00 – 14.00 Lunch break, 15.00 – 17.00 Workshop preparation. Normal working hours will be around 5/6 per day (depends on a place where you will work.)
Estimated hours of work:
• workshops in kindergarden or schools – from 8:50 till 13:00
• workshops in cultural centers (after lessons activities) – from 13:30 till 16:30
• working hours of cultural center for adults “Krąg” – from 15:00 till 20:00
• workshops in highschool from 9:00 – 16:00
Volunteers will have meetings with coordinator/supervisor of the project once per week (after one per 2 months) to discuss and evaluate the activities, work schedule and work places. They will have opportunity to present and develop their ideas there. They will give their feedback about the project management. It is important to evaluate and discuss the project constantly.
