We will look for volunteers who are interested in working with a commitment to volunteering and had chosen our project because of the experience and development they will gain, not only because it’s in
Portugal.

ProAtlântico will provide €5 to cover costs of food and extra expenses during non-working time. During working time the receiving organization provides suitable meal in the organization’s facilities, which is based on a Mediterranean diet.

ProAtlântico provides accommodation in an apartment, University residence, hostel, or hosting family. Accommodations are always multiple bedroom with fully equipped kitchen, toilet and living room – electricity, water, gas, TV and Internet are covered by the project. The volunteers will have towels and bed clothes.

A monthly local transport allowance is provided by the RO.

The city has good public transportation so the workplace will be easy to reach.

ProAtlântico guarantees that the volunteer will have online linguistic support available in the European Comission Platform.
You will track your progress by doing an intake test and a final test at the end of your project.

There will be plenty of opportunities to practice your Portugese skills in the volunteer work with local target groups!

The volunteers will collaborate 35 hours per week during 5 days a week (30 hours of activities + 5 hours for trainings, language support, mentorship meetings, reports, etc.). The schedule will be defined by the hosting organization on arrival of the volunteer and it can change according to the activities.

The volunteers will have 2 consecutive free days each week that can vary from week to week according to the needs of the hosting organization.

The volunteers will have 2 days of holidays per month for the duration of the project, to be taken in agreement between the volunteers and the team. It’s possible to save up your free days and take one longer holiday.

Lisbon is the capital and largest city of Portugal. Within the administrative city limits live around 550,000 inhabitants, however if you include the full metropolitan area you will count over 3 million inhabitants. Lisbon is a historical city where old customs and ancient history intermix with cultural entertainment and hi-tech innovation. It is home to many students and young people and full of museums, concerts (including traditional Fado music) and urban activities. Public transportation is well organized. In the surrounding areas you will find beautiful natural parks, castles and charming coastal cities and villages.
