Plan and deliver workshops for children and youth in Larache

Topics for children may include:

• Mural Painting: Co-create a wall mural with local youth based on a positive theme (e.g. unity, hope, environment).
• Theater/Drama Workshop: Help children express themselves through improvisation, roleplay, or creating a short play.
• Eco-Awareness & Sustainability: Teach about recycling, organize a clean-up event, or plant something together.

Topics for Youth may include:

• Digital Skills Basics: Teach basic computer use, social media safety, or simple graphic tools like Canva.
• Mental Health & Well-being Workshop: Simple mindfulness exercises, open talks about emotions, coping with stress.
• Public Speaking & Confidence Building: Help youth speak up and share their ideas in front of others.
• Job & Career Tools Online :teach how to write a CV in Word or Canva /Using LinkedIn and professional email writing/Searching for jobs or internships online

Help with social media content creation and promotion of project activities

Collaborate with local volunteers and youth groups

Document the project’s progress through photos and short videos

You will be housed in an appartement in the same building as the activity space, but on a separate floor keeping your accommodation private and well separated from your workplace. The kitchen, bathroom and living room are shared with other volunteers. Depending on the amount of volunteers present at the moment you may have to share your bedroom with a volunteer of the same gender.

You’ll receive a monthly budget for food to do groceries and cook with your flatmates or by yourself.

The workplace is located in the same building complex as the accommodation. Furthermore within the city of Laarache you will find all facilities you need within walking distance. For trips further away, the team will teach you how to use the collective taxi system and other public transportation, which is very affordable.

Language classes in Darija (Moroccan Arabic) will be provided, which you can practice further during the workshops with the youth and in your everyday life going to the market, bakery, etc. People are very hospitable and easy to approach. The working language of the project is English and you will always be supported by a local volunteer to translate where needed.

Larache is a calm and welcoming city in northern Morocco, known for its rich history, Andalusian architecture, and strong sense of community. Despite its beauty, many youth and children in Larache, especially in public schools, lack access to non-formal education, creative learning spaces, and digital tools. The local population is young, curious, and motivated to learn and grow.

When based in Larache, you can easily visit surrounding cities by public transport, such as ’the blue city’ of Chefchaouen, Greece-resembling Asilah with its annual mural festival, the ancient medina of Tetouan where it seems time has stood still, and the mix of modernity and tradition of Tangier, where the mediterranean meets the ocean.
