Park Istra is a volunteer center in the beautiful Slovenian region of Istria (near the coast). It hosts about 15 volunteers all year around in a wide range of projects, from children’s workshops to animal shelters, and from clean-up actions to eco farming. The main objective is always to help the local communities. Volunteers support local youth, elderly and other vulnerable communities in any way they can. They help people in need, work on local sustainable projects and preservation of local natural and cultural heritage.
In the last nine years, Park Istra has hosted more than 1200 volunteers from 56 countries and created an inspiring space of cooperation, creativity and harmony among volunteers and the locals. In 2021, Park Istria was nominated for a Salto award as one of the top five volunteering projects in Europe.
